This time of the year always reminds me to be thankful for what I have, to not wish for what I don’t have and to always give back.

One of the programs we want to highlight this month is Metro Meals on Wheels. I am sure most of you have heard about this program but have you ever thought of volunteering? They are always in need of people to come and help. If you haven’t heard of Metro Meals on Wheels, here is a little except from their website,

“Metro Meals on Wheels and its army of volunteers deliver and serve meals to 900-plus senior citizens in Boise and throughout Ada County each weekday, and over 700 every weekend.

Many seniors receiving meals are homebound and unable to prepare their own meals. For many, these meals provide their only consistent source of daily nourishment.”

There are so many seniors in our community that need your help. Knowing that this program provides in-need seniors with proper nutritious meals is one of the many reasons I love living in the valley. Nobody should go hungry. No senior should be without proper nutrition just because they can’t afford healthy meals or because they are unable to properly get around. I love that the Treasure Valley has this large, in-place system for volunteers to go and sign up. To get started, just click the link in our blog!

Bringing food to someone in need might seem like a small, easy task, but you’re truly helping our community by volunteering and making a huge impact in someone’s life. So, don’t wait, get started today!
